Our Story

Peter Kate is named after the owner’s 2 oldest children, Peter and Katie. Sissy’s third child, Margot, arrived after the store was born, but provides lots of insertion on how to buy for the younger generation. We started our business 20 years ago in Wilmington, Delaware as a quaint shoe boutique, but we have since evolved to be what we like to call a “mini department store,” selling high-end apparel and accessories. Now, we do it all! 

We expanded into jewelry & accessories, then apparel, doubling the size of our space. Since 2017, we have expanded further to our 3000 square foot space which we remain today. This expansion allowed us to showcase our vendors more effectively so that we could have a layout that looks more like a mini department store. Our boutique holds a shoe salon and ample room for customers to try on clothes, walk around perusing their favorite designers, and house the back-end operations to grow our business. 

Unlike a department store, however, we’re a lot more personal. We want to cater to your style. We want to get to know you and offer you personalized service and advice. We want you to feel like the best woman you can be.
